Chili con Carne
Originating in Texas and not in Mexico as one might think, chili con carne is a very popular recipe in the United States that delights everyone, young and old. Spiced up with Albert Ménès chilli, this dish is simple and tasty!
For 4 people
Preparation: 10 mins
Cooking: 30 mins
Ingredients
500g of minced beef
2 white onions
2 cloves of garlic
500g of tinned peeled tomatoes
350g of tinned kidney beans
200g of tinned sweetcorn
1 red pepper
2 tbsp of olive oil
2 tsp of Albert Ménès chilli powder
25cl of beef stock
Albert Ménès Salt with Espelette pepper
Albert Ménès Pepper and berries
Preparation
Peel and finely chop the onions and garlic cloves. Wash and slice the red pepper.
Heat the olive oil in a casserole dish and melt the chopped onions and garlic until translucent. Add the minced beef and stir-fry for 10 minutes, stirring well. Add the kidney beans, peeled tomatoes and chilli to the mixture.
Let it simmer on a low heat for at least 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add salt and pepper to taste, then add the sweetcorn at the end of cooking.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve the chilli con carne hot with white rice.
